The tour in the steps of the legendary kozaks attests to the fact that the kozak traditions are being restored in today’s Ukraine. Kozaks owe their name to the Crimean Tatars in whose language “Kazak” stands for a “Free warrior”. Zaporizhski Kozaks were famous for their art of horse riding, valor, and fighting mastery. Kozaks’ history is reminiscent of a multicolored embroidery on a Ukrainian national shirt where one can find triumphant campaigns, strong feelings of comradeship, Hetman’s wisdom, victorious battles, bitter defeats, cunning betrayals, songs about friends and foes, love and fidelity, and the endless longing for freedom.
