The
tour takes you to Transylvania and Bukovyna with a one-day visit to the city
of Chernivtsi.
Transylvania is known in German as “Siebenbürgen”, which means “Seven
Fortresses“. It offers a cultural landscape where both Middle and Western
European influences are especially noticeable.
Mighty
Romanesque architecture and fortified churches, Medieval monuments, full of
mystery, quiet snug towns with grand fortresses, large cities with marvelous
streets and breath-taking Modern style architecture, intricately intertwined
German, Hungarian, and Rumanian traditions – all of this is Transylvania
today.
Bukovyna is a legendary land of beech trees (ukr. “buky”), “Switzerland of
the East”. It charms its visitors with hilly landscapes, dreamy villages,
cities with swirling life and old Austrian architecture, unrepeated painted
churches, diverse peoples, languages and cultures.
